Nyírbátor is a dynamically developing centre of the Nyírség region. With a population of 13,500 it is a town that is richest in historic values of Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County.
The most significant period of its history of seven centuries is linked with the Bathory's. The building that were created at that time are worthy to the rank of the family of national reputation in the 15th and 16th century, today these buildings are the landmarks and monuments of the town.
